Jaclyn Elisse Torrealba was a student at G. Holmes Braddock High School and a member of our debate team. She was taken from us on October 11, 2009; a victim of teen dating violence. Our debate team along with other organizations at our school refuse to let Jaclyn be just another statistic. Our goal is to promote awareness of Teen Dating Violence. Annually we embark on several different types of events and fundraisers in order to champion our cause. Our Bulldog Invitational donates monies to Love Is Respect.org - an organization that is a joint project between the National Dating Abuse Helpline and Break the Cycle to provide resources for teens, parents, friends and family, peer advocates, government officials, law enforcement officials and the general public. Additionally, we host an annual scholarship benefit. The proceeds from the Jaclyn Torrealba Scholarship Gala are donated to the scholarship in Jaclyn’s name at Florida International University where she was a student. Our goal is promote awareness and education about Teen Dating Violence.
